Welcome to the George Douglas Photography website.

This is all about the work of George Douglas, a brilliant photographer of the mid 20th Century.  In the 1940s, 50s and 60s he worked for leading magazines of the day, both in Britain and in America and captured wonderful images of the period. He was a true photojournalist who was interested in everything around him and was equally happy photographing celebrities and charladies, fashion and football, politicians and people who simply caught his restless eye.  All his negatives were stored in dusty old filing cabinets, locked for more than 40 years and only rediscovered after his death in 2010.
